A slightly alarming diving tale

Created by Tony 2 years ago

Martha took up diving following a snorkeling trip on our first holiday together to Egypt. She saw the dazzling array of colours and amazing life under the sea, and wanted to be with me properly under the sea. It took a while for her to learn, a combination of nerves and she was essentially still recovering g from her beast cancer. Two years later or so Martha completed her advanced divi g course in Thailand. So off we go with her amazing little instructor Claire. For a joint dive. Off the boat we jump onto a spectacular stag horn cobwred reef which went on as far as the eye could see. Into a fairly strong current. As tome went by all of us enjoying the view, the current got stronger and stronger. I looked at Claire she at me with a slightly worried air. Mary a oblivious yo all this is happily whizzing along to who knows where. Eventually we popped up. The shore had disappeared, the boat had disappeared. Martha was ecstatic, thoroughly enjoyed her self (no swimming you see a no effort dive) until she realised there was no boat to be seen. We did get picked up. Boat captains have an uncanny knack of knowing where you are. But we did have a giggle later at Marth's expense for once.
